Constantine Alexander is a Chicago based trumpeter and educator whose work is rooted in jazz and shaped by his Chicago upbringing and Greek heritage.

 

He studied at Lincoln Park High School before earning a Bachelor of Music from Roosevelt University and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University. Over the course of his career, Constantine has performed and collaborated with artists including Sean Jones, Randy Brecker, Terell Stafford, Dennis Mackrel, Paquito D’Rivera, Robert “Sput” Searight II, and Yo Yo Ma.

 

His work has taken him from jazz clubs and theaters to festivals and arena stages. He has remained an active part of Chicago’s music community through groups including Roy McGrath’s Menjunje and Marques Carroll’s Trumpet Summit. In 2018, he was named the Luminarts Jazz Competition winner and Fellow, and he currently serves as trumpet player for the Chicago Blackhawks.

 

His original group Firetet released their first album in 2023 and most recently played at the Chicago jazz Fest in 2026 at the WDCB Jazz Lounge. 

 

Alongside his performance career, Constantine is dedicated to music education. He teaches jazz trumpet at Roosevelt University and directs the Large Jazz Ensemble, bringing his experience as a working musician into the classroom.
